Reflections from our Church Secretary on the events & activities that have happened in the Church Centre this week:
Have reverence for Christ in your hearts and honour him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you.
1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)
This verse came to my mind several times last Saturday morning as Rev’d Andy Godfrey from Outreach UK led a training session for a group of 20 or so of us, encouraging us to be bold and positive about ‘sharing our story’. Some of us may have approached the morning with a little trepidation, but Andy was a great storyteller himself and he soon put us at our ease.
Could you tell your story in two minutes? Some of us had the chance to share in pairs and then recount what we had heard. Have a go and practice! One of Andy’s statements which has really stayed with me this week was ‘Don’t assume people are not interested’. Our story is unique to each one of us – let’s be prepared to share it!
Saturday was also a busy day for some of the Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association officers and young leaders as they took part in a reconnaissance walk from Thornton to Cosgrove, a distance of about 7 miles. What a beautiful route:

The walk itself took place on Friday 16th as young leaders led 12 younger members – what an opportunity for conversations, and stories to be told. Please pray for the walk and the work of the BBGA as they point young people to our Lord Jesus.
As we continue our Overflowing Faith and Generosity series, and as we lead up to our WECC Anniversary Weekend on 7th/8th June where we will have the opportunity to reflect on God’s faithfulness over the years and look ahead to the future, thanks go to Dennis L for his ‘Walk Through Time – Bletchley Remembered’ event last Monday, which raised £185 for the Building Project!
