On Saturday 3rd May we were delighted to be joined at the Water Eaton Church Centre by Paul Jones and Fiona Hendley Jones.

We heard how faith in God changed their lives; an uplifting, powerful and humorous story about their journey to knowing God ‘from Atheist to Christian’.

The church was almost full to capacity to hear the famous singer and actress, sharing with us their faith journey in word and song. Thank you especially to Tim and Mo for organising this event.

Many were touched by the afternoon, and we were humbled that they chose to give the donated figure of £262.50 to the building fund – a wonderful start to our ‘Generosity’ reflections.

Prayer requests were left for the couple after the event. We have received an uplifting follow-up from Paul & Fiona in response to these prayer requests:

We are praying daily over the prayer papers and will continue until Monday. Just to let you know that – first time decisions are ‘fourteen’ and rededications are twenty-one people and a huge number of prayer requests. We give glory to our dear Lord for moving people’s hearts.

And a word from Tim who organised it all…

I would like to express my very grateful thanks for everyone who worked together to make the event last Saturday such a success – there were so many volunteers that I can’t mention them all but everything ran very smoothly and this is because the volunteers all just got on with their tasks. My personal thank you to you all. Although not strictly a fundraising event, donations amounted to £262.50 which was helped by Paul & Fiona donating the amount collected for their travel expenses back to the building fund.

Galilee Gardens Maintenance

On Monday 5th May a group was able to work in the Galilee Gardens, cleaning the red surface and building a wall. A big thank you to everyone who helped out!
