The Water Eaton Church Centre Craft Group invites you to join them in another project for MK Age UK.
The partnership between Age UK and Innocent, the smoothie company, is continuing.
The Big Knit is Age UK’s partnership with innocent drinks. We’ve been working together since 2003, asking the country’s crafters to knit little hats for the tops of innocent smoothie bottles. Every hat knitted raises 30p to help Age UK provide much-needed services and support to older people.
The local Milton Keynes branch of Age UK has a target of 20,000 knitted hats before the end of May – and we want to help!
If you would like to join Craft Group and knit some hats, the knitting patterns and more information can be found on the Age UK website. You can come along to Craft Group on the first Thursday of the month too – more information here.
We will collect the hats in the Spring. Thank you.
MK Age UK has also thanked the Church Centre Craft Group and friends who helped knit the Christmas decorations to be used at their Winter Wonderland event on 29th November. You can find more information about this event on their website here.
A Message from St Mark’s Meals
For this year’s Harvest Sunday, we donated tinned produce to St Mark’s Meals, a local charity that ensures “no child goes to bed hungry”. We have received the following message from them below:
“I wanted to write a quick note to thank you, the congregation at St Frideswide’s and the congregation of Spurgeon’s, for your kind and generous food donation to St Mark’s Meals following harvest. We are so thankful to be on the team together in the fight against child hunger in the city. Please say a huge thank you to everyone who donated a tin or packet (or 12!). All the food was stacked on the shelves, and some have already been packed into boxes that will be delivered to schools in the next few days. Due to your generosity, several families who would have gone to bed without dinner this month will go to bed with full tummies instead. THANK YOU for helping make the magic happen! Cheering you on always in the wonderful work you do in the Water Eaton Community…you inspire us!“
