From Nick, one of our deacons who works for BMS World Mission:
I expect you will have heard about the flash floods and mudslides in Nepal recently. BMS workers Alan and Megan Barker recently issued an update – as they work in the area – and thanked us for our ongoing prayers and support. They also shared some harrowing stories however, including the following:
“Our team witnessed horrendous conditions in the local hospital – nowhere to store bodies, no electricity, no drinking water and no toilets. Counselling is needed for traumatised people who saw their loved ones washed away – children who have lost parents.”
If you would like to make a financial gift to help the situation, please go the BMS website here.
If you would prefer to give a cash gift however, please put the money into an envelope marked “BMS Nepal” and put it into the offering bag at church.
