During September, we hold our ‘Gift Month’, where we donate to a number of good causes locally and across the globe. This month, we will be dividing donations equally between Bridge House, Vellore and the Highland Group.

Bridge House, Christian MEdical College, Vellore, India

As with the previous two years, we are very pleased to support the construction and work of Bridge House at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, as they work with recovering bone marrow transplant patients.

We heard from Ann Bothamley about this significant project recently when she spent time with us during the service, and we hope we will be able to raise funds to support this work again.

Ann also spoke to us during our Morning Worship on Sunday 26th June 2022, where she gave us a detailed insight into her fifty years of work at Bridge House, which is also supported by BMS World Mission. The Highland Group

The Highland Group is a charitable organisation that is very close to our own minister’s heart, as it operates in Mung’s home state of Manipur, India.

Following the major civil unrest and disruption in Manipur last year, from which the region is still reeling, the Highland Group focus on employing teachers, providing coaching sessions and offering play and art workshops to those whose education has been disrupted at school, college and university levels.

The violence displaced tens of thousands – some 59,000 people are still living in government relief camps. It has split up neighbourhoods and torn apart bonds between communities.

• – Via online bank transfer into the Spurgeon’s bank account, with the reference ‘Gift Month’. Account details will be available in the newsletter.
• – Placing an envelope in the offering bag by the entrance door in church on Sunday marked ‘Gift Month’.

We can pray that God will use the gifts and people working in Bridge House and the Highland Group to share His love and care in practical ways, and that the glory would go to Him.
