Mung’s Induction – A Day of Celebration!

Today we held a special service to celebrate the induction of Rev Mung Hatzaw as our new minister!

We were delighted to welcome Rev Lisa Kerry, Regional Team Leader for the Central Baptist Association, who officiated, and Rev Paul Campion, Mung’s Tutor from Regent’s Park College, who gave the sermon, preaching from Ephesians 4:1-16. We were also delighted to welcome Milton Keynes Deputy Mayor, Councillor Marie Bradburn, friends from Folkestone Baptist Church (where Mung served as Youth Worker), and other invited guests, including Mung’s friends and family.

During the service we heard the story of how God had brought Mung to Spurgeon’s, both from the perspective of Mung as well as from the perspective of the church (as told by our Church Secretary). Members and friends of Spurgeon’s, and our incoming Minister Mung, then spoke words of covenant to each other and before God as we formally welcomed him into ministry with us.

It was an uplifting atmosphere as we all came together from far and wide to voice our praises to God in song and prayer, and to celebrate the start of a new journey between church and minister. The service was streamed online, which you can view again here.

A fellowship tea was held afterwards, with much conversation had and a lot of cakes consumed!

As you can see from the pictures below, it was a great day and we look forward to what God has in store for our fellowship going forward.

  1. What a joyful service. The thing that stood out for me was the look of joy on the faces of the deacons as they prayed! Thank you. Mung is in safe hands with you in Bletchley. And the lord’s, of course! Evert blessing to you all. Belinda from Folkestone
