The General Election will be held on Thursday 4th July. Churches Together in Milton Keynes (CTMK) are organising Hustings in the three MK parliamentary constituencies. This includes the constituency of Buckingham & Bletchley, which our church falls into.
The Hustings for the Buckingham & Bletchley constituency will be held in our church building on Sunday 23rd June, 4pm – 5.30pm, followed by refreshments. Please arrive at 3.45pm to ensure a prompt start. All the details can be found on the leaflet below:
Hustings for the other two MK parliamentary constituencies will be held as follows:
- Milton Keynes North constituency: Tuesday 18th June, 7.30pm – 9.00pm, refreshments from 7pm, at St Peter & St Paul Church, Newport Pagnell
- Milton Keynes Central constituency: Wednesday 26th June, 8.00pm – 9.30pm, refreshments from 7.30pm, at Christ the Cornerstone, Central MK.
Hustings are an election meeting where members of the public can listen to and ask questions of the candidates who are standing for election. We’re organising these as a public service, to support the democratic process, to facilitate public debate and as a contribution to the common good. This opportunity for respectful discussion in a neutral space is often appreciated by candidates as well as voters.
