Last Saturday, 10th October, we held our second Operation Christmas Child Packing Party which was led by Sarah. Sarah shares how the day went below:
What an immense joy it was to come together and pack 100 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child this year!
When we prayerfully set our goal of 100 shoeboxes, it felt like a real step of faith after packing 50 last year. Yet God provided more than enough, with gifts left over even after reaching our target. Throughout the planning and preparation, He gently reminded us to “be still and know that I am God.” As we trusted Him, we saw once again that when God leads, He provides. What began as a step of faith became a beautiful testimony of His faithfulness and abundance. All we can say is, “See what God has done!”
While we may never meet the children who receive these boxes, our love, prayers, and blessings go with them. As we commissioned the shoeboxes, we prayed that God would use them to share His love and plant seeds of the gospel in the hearts of children and their families.
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, packed, prayed, and took part. We were blown away by the generosity of our church family and St Frideswide’s, and by God’s faithfulness every step of the way. A special thank you to our planning team, Jane, Heather, and Lesley, the refreshments team, and everyone who brought cakes.
We’re also delighted that the surplus items can be used to bless ‘Angel Tree’, a Prison Fellowship initiative that enables imprisoned parents to send gifts to their children, bringing hope, strengthening family relationships, and demonstrating Christ’s love.
God bless you all!
Many thanks to Sarah for all her hard work in making it all possible!
