It was a privilege to meet Benon Kayanja our link BMS Mission Worker on Saturday 6th June at our ‘Meet & Greet’ Brunch.

He has worked with BMS since 2013 and now serves as Justice Livelihoods Health (JLH) Executive Director. Justice Livelihoods Health is an Indigenous registered Non-Governmental Organization in Uganda, formed to see the lives of the poor disadvantaged communities, transformed from poverty to opportunity, from inequality to Justice and from despair to hope.

We witnessed his enthusiasm for his work and his deep love for our Lord.

He shared the ups and downs of his ministry and how he and his team develop self- replicating projects. It was upsetting to learn that one particular project, that of creating free water boreholes, might have to stop because of the lack of modern equipment. At present the boreholes are drilled by hand in difficult terrain. The information reinforced how fortunate we are to be able to receive water from the turn of a small tap.

We enjoyed hearing about his family, his wife Dorothy and children, Favour and Bright.

Benon thanked us for praying, for giving to BMS and for standing with communities in Uganda. He asked us to pray for ‘Wisdom and strength for churches serving their communities; sustainable transformation for vulnerable families and God’s guidance for JLH and its partners.’

Now that we have met Benon, heard about his family, his work and found out more about him with chats over lunch, let us continue to support him in prayer as he meets new churches while he is in England and pray his prayer requests regularly.

Thank You for Your Wonderful Hospitality

I wanted to write and express my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful hospitality you showed me during my visit to Spurgeon Baptist Church. My time with you remains one of the highlights of my trip to the UK. I still have such vivid memories of the warmth, kindness, and genuine fellowship I experienced from you and the entire church family. From the moment I arrived, I felt so welcomed and cared for, and I am deeply grateful.

Thank you also for accepting to become my link church and for committing to pray for me and the ministry of Justice Livelihoods Health and Ambassadors of Christ Church in Uganda. Knowing that we have brothers and sisters standing with us in prayer is a tremendous encouragement, and I look forward to growing this partnership in the years ahead.

I arrived home safely on Sunday and, by God’s grace, have settled back into family life well. It has been a joy to reunite with Dorothy and Bright. I thank God for His protection throughout my journey. Please convey my warm greetings and sincere appreciation to everyone at Spurgeon Baptist Church. I remain so thankful for the opportunity to worship and fellowship with such a loving church family. God willing, I would love to visit again in the future.
