We have now officially become a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation)!

At a Special Church Members’ Meeting at the end of September, members’ voted to approve the resolution to incorporate Spurgeon Baptist Church as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), as of 1st January 2026.

Our tremendous thanks go to Gareth who has spent a lot of his time towards making this a possibility.

This means we now have a charity number: 1215202. You can also find this at the bottom of our website.

We are also on the Charity Commission website, which you can view here.

This is only the beginning of work which will continue as the changes in what being a CIO means to the church are worked through.
