Fun & Frivolity @ Holiday at Home

A great time of fun and frivolity was had by around seventy guests at this year’s ’Holiday at Home’, provided by members of Spurgeon Baptist and St Frideswide’s churches at Water Eaton Church Centre, on Saturday 12th July.

Thanks go to Crosslinks for providing a nourishing snack lunch and financially supporting the event. This year’s theme was ‘A trip to Santa’s Workshop’, albeit on one of the hottest days of the year!

Activities included quizzes, a sing-along and dancing, led again by members of Swing Dance MK. Thanks go to the organisers and all the volunteers!

Crosslinks had their own reflections which you can read below:

“Last Saturday (12th July) saw this year’s Holiday At Home event in the Water Eaton Church Centre. The theme this year was ‘A Trip To Santa’s Workshop’. On the day, the temperature was close to 30 Celsius, so it didn’t feel much like Lapland!

As in previous years, the event was entirely funded by CrossLinks, so it was again completely free for the 70 guests. There was a snack lunch, singalongs, quizzing, dancing, and a few jokes from Santa.

One photo shows members of our Disabled Club enjoying the event. Another shows the team of volunteers who helped make it all possible. Well done, you volunteers. And there’s a photo of Santa trying to explain why he’s not wearing his traditional outfit, and why he has shaved his beard off, and how he’d managed to lose so much weight since Christmas!”
