*** DUNSTABLE DOWNS PICNIC CANCELLED ***

In light of the weather warnings now in place for the next 24 hours or so, it is with regret that the deacons have taken the decision to CANCEL the planned church family outing and picnic to Dunstable Downs tomorrow.

Those of you who know the site will be aware that it is high up and very exposed to the elements. Significant adverse weather has been forecast, so we do not believe it would be safe or reasonable to ask anyone to drive to the Downs in the anticipated conditions.

This is very disappointing as the date has been in the diary for several months now, so we thank you for your understanding of the rationale for the decision.

We hope for fine weather and a fun time when we gather for our Church Family Picnic and afternoon together at Dunstable Downs.

The main car park is by the Visitor Centre, off the B4541, with a smaller car park a short distance away. Parking is £3.50 for the day, or free for National Trust members and Blue Badge holders. More information can be found on their website here.

Please bring your picnics and blankets/chairs and we will aim to gather by the Visitor Centre at 12 noon and then find a picnic spot. There are refreshments, a shop and toilet facilities available at the Centre. You may like to walk to the Tree Cathedral, bring kites or ball games, or simply relax and enjoy the views. We expect to leave around 3.30pm-4pm, but you are of course free to come and go as you please.
