Starlight Samba Band

The Starlight Samba band is based in the Water Eaton Church Centre. We set the band up in 2006 to provide live samba music on a charitable basis in the Milton Keynes area.

The Starlight Samba band exists for the community. For individuals, that means the band is open to anyone who wants to play samba. We don’t charge you to join, and we provide the instruments. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, or your sex, or the colour of your skin. And it certainly doesn’t matter if you have no previous experience of playing samba instruments, or any other type of instrument. We will teach you. The band is there for everyone who wants to have a go. Come and try it – it’s FUN.

For organisations, being a community band means we’re available to perform at community events. We play nothing but genuine, South American samba. And we don’t charge for our performances – though donations are always welcome. The events we performed in 2016 are:

  • Thornton School fete
  • St Frideswide’s Summer Fayre
  • Lavendon Village Hall opening
  • Redway School end of year celebrations

We are currently on hold as we recover from the pandemic, but will update this page as soon as the Starlight Samba Band gets going again!
