Prayer for Ukraine

As we look on in horror at the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we can commit the fighting and violence in our prayers to God, knowing that he is far greater and stronger than any earthly power.

If you’re feeling like you need to pray, but don’t know where to start, BMS World Mission have compiled a list of prayer requests which have come from church and mission partners on the ground. You can check out these prayer requests, as well as ways in which you can give to help the Ukrainian people practically here.

Rayleigh Baptist Church (the church of our former Youth Minister, Rev Ricky Rew), have also compiled a list of helpful resources and guidance for prayer on their website.

…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

‘Jesus, Lord of Peace’ – A worship song for these times…

There was lots of feedback on this worship song that was used to end our morning service on 27th February, so here’s the song below to listen again and help focus our prayers for peace in Ukraine. Written in 2017 by Andy Clark and published under the Resound Worship banner, it just seemed spot on for our world this week.
